My mother-in-law and I had mad this Care Bears cake for my daughter’s 4th birthday party. My daughter wanted a Care Bear themed party and cake. So my mother-in-law came up with the idea of a cloud and Care Bears in a pool and going down the slide. So that is what we did.
We make the big Care Bear out of rice crispie treats and fondant and the rainbow, stars, little Care Bears and her name also out of fondant. We made the pool out of blue jellow. We also made another 1/4 sheet cake to put on the back side of the cake for the hill. To make the hole in the cake we found a bowl of the size that we liked and put rocks in it to make it stay put while the cake was baking.
It took some time to make this cake, but it was worth every minute of it. My daughter loved it and it was a big hit at the party!
This is an AWSOME CAKE! Can you make me one?
After the cake came out of the oven, did you remove the bowl, or did you pour the Jello into the bowl and let it set up? I want to do this, but I can’t figure out this step. If you took the bowl out, what did you line the bottom of the pool with so that the Jello didn’t seep into the cake? The Jello definitely looks like it set up in the pool. Beautiful cake!
