Carrot Cake has always been my favorite kind of cake.
I decided to be silly and make it carrot shaped!
I made half a recipe for carrot cake from a cookbook and baked it in an 8″x8″ pan. Once cooled I cut the cake in half and stacked it to make it 2 layers. I spread store bought cream cheese frosting in between the layers.
I cut off the corners on one side to make it come to a point and flipped those pieces to make the stem part. I then colored some of the frosting orange with gel food coloring and iced the cake. Then the left over orange I made darker for the lines and writing on the cake. I then dyed some more frosting green for the stem part, then frosted the stem part. The left over green I made darker and drew the lines on the stem part.
How dare you sully this celebration of cake.

i really like carrot cakes, especial when the carrot is fresh and it is done pefectly.
