My daughter wanted a princess cake and I thought this Cinderella Carriage Cake Design would be a fun alternative. I used the Wilton 3D sports ball pan for the carriage. I used cupcakes for the base (easier to distribute), toys for the doll and horse. “Polly pocket” style princesses fit perfectly. I used dyed green coconut for the grass, brown sugar for the road and licorice strings for the horse’s lead. I used yogurt covered pretzels and silver ball candy for detailing.
I propped the carriage on top of a plastic container to give it height compared to the cupcakes. Each cupcake was individually iced and placed on the board. After all were placed, I iced over the whole spread to fill in gaps. I then sprinkled coconut and brown sugar as desired. I used candy rocks for the stones.
This was a super easy cake and earned rave reviews from all of our guests!
