My daughter wanted a Cinderella’s Castle cake for her 4th birthday. I used a 6 inch round Wilton pan and a 12 inch round Wilton pan. I made 2 cakes in each pan (a total of 4 were stacked). I also used the Wilton castle kit.
I did the turrets a few days before I made the cake. I frosted them with jar white frosting which I tinted cornflower blue then I rolled them in Wilton clear crystals. Because I let them dry for about 48 hours all of the crystals were sealed on by the time I applied them to the cake.
Then I made some fondant leaves and flowers with the Wilton flower kit to decorate the windows and doors. It was very easy and I never worked with fondant before. I piped the windows and door with the cornflower blue icing. I frosted the entire cake with white icing. I decorated it with lots of Disney princesses because my daughter wanted them all there.
It was not very difficult to make this cake but it was very time consuming. However, my daughter was amazed by this cake!! I’d do it again for her in a second!
