I made this crayon box birthday cake for my son’s 2nd birthday party. We were having the party at a campground so I had to make the cake/cupcakes the night before and then travel with them, this is why I went with cupcakes instead of the cake.
First I took ice cream cones, cut them in half with a bread knife, along the seam. I frosted them with different crayon colors. Then I lined up the cupcakes around them to be the box of crayons. Each one was frosted to look like the crayola crayon box. I was going to do black icing on the cones to make the the marking of the wrapper on the crayon but had trouble with the icing I bought and did not have time to get to a store as we were camping. Either way it turned out fun for all.
