For this Darth Maul And Yoda Star Wars Cookie Cake I used a 16″ round double layer chocolate chip cookie cake. I used a 16″ pizza pan and spread out homemade cookie dough (you can use store bought). Make 2 for double layer.
The first layer is decorated with white buttercream icing, put in fridge to set. I then used Wilson’s cake coloring and a paint brush to create the artwork. First I outlined Darth Maul & Yoda with the small end of a chopstick, I like to use this a lot. Don’t press too hard. I can’t see a toothpick outline in white icing.
I colored in each area with the cake coloring gently with a firm super small paint brush to get all the detail. Then outlined it with gel. It’s like painting on a cake, unlike my Chewbacca cookie which I incorporated the colored frosting INTO the actual base frosting.
Anyway… after top decorated layer is complete, ice the bottom layer and gently transfer top layer on top. There ya go and YUMMY! People always appreciate the artistic detail. It wasn’t too sweet either, being doubled with icing. The birthday boy was pleased.
I know that “birthday boy”! This has to be Leisa’s work! Good job, girl!
