Every little boy LOVES Lightning McQueen right? Right. I have 3 boys. I know. Anyway. My son turned three and wanted a cars cake. I had made him an Elmo cake when he was 2. It scared him and he wouldn’t get near it. I was determined to redeem myself and this cake did it!
#1 Search this site. See what you like and whats doable. Merge all your favorite aspects into your own one-of-a-kind special treat.
#2 For this cake. Make a couple boxed cakes (i think two would suffice. My son wanted strawberry cake) One 13×9. Two 9 inch rounds and 2 of the really small Wilton ones. Not sure…6 inches maybe.
#3 Wilton icing colors, bags and tips.
#4 Freeze the cakes so you can do it in stages if you are busy like me and cant devote a solid block of time to cake making. I have 4 kids ages 5 and under my house is a zoo!
#5 Buy or borrow the cars! Instant beauty no long hours sculpting them out of fondant! Also they make great presents. We already had them all from Christmas. Chances are you have them too!
My son and his friends loved the cake so much! I always surprise the kids with it and wont let them see it til the party. It’s something they look forward to every year.
Wicked cake good job! My son is 4 soon and he also loves cars he would love this cake
