Thanks to this site I was able to come up with this Disney Princess Castle Cake design for my daughter’s 4th birthday. She LOVED IT! I used two 9×13 cakes on the bottom and 2 8″cakes on top. I did use wooden picks to hold the cakes together and give it more support. The two towers were stacks of ice cream cones with a sugar cone on the top.
The bottom layer of the cake was frosted and then I added a little bit of pink sprinkles. The sugar cones on the top of the towers were made by frosting the cone and then rolling it in sparkling sugar (its chunkier pieces of colored sugar/sprinkles- almost like rock salt-that I found at a local craft store in the cake decorating section). I was able to find pastel covered candy to decorate the top layers of the cakes and the door is made of pink wafer cookies.
The crown/wands, and windows on the towers were from a package of premade cake toppings found with the other cake decorating items at your local grocery store. I colored coconut green for the grass and made a little walkway out of M&M’s. The dolls were from my daughter’s toy collection and fit perfectly to finish it all off. The towers were a little unstable when moving the cake, but luckily I didn’t have to move it too far.
It was my first attempt and took a while to decorate it all, but it was well worth it!
