This doll birthday cake is baked in my kitchen aid bowl. I use two boxes of cake mix, cook at 300 degrees for about an hour and fifteen minutes. I took a cup of cake mix prior to baking, colored it to match the dress and swirlled it with the white cake mix. Then when it was cut into, not only do you have the pretty outside, you have frosting, and swirly pretty cake.
I wrapped the doll with saran wrap prior to inserting her into the cake. I only wrapped up to her hips. Then using frosting, I created the gown. Part of the gift is the new dolly which is quite a hit in our house of three little girls!
