Cute Homemade Elmo Birthday Cake Using Wilton's Elmo Cake Pan

This homemade Elmo birthday cake was so easy to make. We used a 16-inch round Wilton cake pan and an Elmo mold cake pan. We just used ordinary cake mixes prepared as directed (NOTE: It took 3 cake mixes for the round pan and 1 and 1/2 mixes for the Elmo pan).

We used ordinary store bought icing in tubes that were already colored in the colors red, green, orange, and black. We used 3 double sized containers of whipped white icing to cover the round cake. We used the tips that make stars with to coloring Elmo. We dipped our fingers in water to smooth out the white icing over Elmo’s eyes and the orange icing over his nose, and black over his mouth.

This homemade Elmo birthday cake is very simple to create. Everybody loved it!
