This Elmo Cake was prepared using the standard Wilton Elmo cake pan. I used the Wilton “no taste” red to make the color so deep. I recommend buying 2 or 3 large jars of that coloring to make it bold enough. Especially if you’re going from white icing to red, it takes a lot. I used the leftover red icing to make the black so I didn’t need to use as much of the black color.
I used the standard Wilton butter cream icing recipe and presented the cake on a 16″ cardboard cake circle that I covered in the Wilton cake board wrap.
