I made this Elmo Spongebob Cake for my twin nephews. One of course likes Elmo and the other Spongebob. It’s a half sheet cake. I made the Elmo base relief by taking the portion of cake I cut to level it and mixed it with frosting. I moulded it into Elmo’s face and put it in the freezer overnight.
Spongebob is made by tracing a coloring page onto rice paper with a yellow food grade marker, tracing the outline in black buttercream and then coloring everything in with tip 5 in buttercream. The next day I put Elmo on, filled in his eyes and mouth with tip 5 and then used the Wilton’s grass tip 233 to cover his head.
The boys loved it and the first thing they ate was Elmo’s pupils!
