This Flowers Birthday Cake was for an 88 year old Birthday. Top is blended red, yellow, and orange-red buttercream. Sides are chocolate brown basket weave.
I prepared fondant roses in advance of 2 colors – orange-pink, and purple (got this from youtube) Roll the fondant into small balls, get a Ziploc baggie and use to smooth into shape of petals. Alternate until you get size rose you want. I placed on corners of cake, adding in different color buttercream roses until full, and green and brown leaves. Threw in yellow buttercream mums (drop flower tip).
I decorated with fall garland surrounding cake. Huge success!
