Coolest Fondant Castle Cake

This fondant castle cake was modeled after a picture that I found. I don’t remember what book it came from. This castle can be done in various sizes, however the smallest one that I have done has been an 8″.

The cake in this picture is a double layer, 10″ round. It would feed around 30 to 40 people. It was iced in buttercream and then covered in white fondant. All accent pieces on the castle were also made from fondant. I used a ruler to make the “brick” look on the side of the cake.

The white pillars on the sides and on the top were also made from fondant. I made those by covering paper towel rolls with plastic and then wrapping it in fondant. I allowed it to dry about 2 days before sliding off the roll.

The peaks of the pillars are sugar ice cream cones. I used a small amount of icing inside the cones to secure it to the pillars. White chocolate disks were used around the bottom of the cones and fondant was used to make the flags.

Small marshmallows were used along the top edge of the round cake.

  1. I could hardly do the fondant icing the powdered sugar would be hard if you will not follow the measurements and techniques It may result to breakage of the fondant dough. It requires a patience to do it
