For my son’s 8th birthday my mother and I came up with the idea to make him a frog cake. We saw the cakes on this website and liked some of the ideas but we wanted to make something different. So we made 2 9×13 cakes and put them together to make one big cake.
We used neon food coloring in the icing. It makes better colors! We iced both the cakes together with blue icing. Then we took sugar cookie dough and made four lily pads and iced them green. We had bought marshmallow frogs for Easter and decided to use them for the cake. We had to put the marshmallow frogs in the freezer for ten minutes to harden them a little.
We then put the cookies on top of the cake and used toothpicks to hold up the frogs on the cookies. It came out great, the kids loved it and it was easy.
