This Girl Purse Cake was inspired by the Glitzy girl party supplies, its not an exact match but I thought it went well with the theme. The overall cake is made from four strawberry sheet cakes, two side by side then two more layered on top. I then iced it with pink and green food colored butter cream frosting,
The decorations are candy necklaces, ring pops, a flower “buckle” made of fondant and fondant “cosmetics” that I adorned with my daughter’s initial with food coloring by painting it on each one as the label. The “beaded handle” is made from fondant rolled into 1/3 in balls and measured out to the width of the cake (the width of two 13×9 sheet cakes). Once the balls were stuck together I brushed them with a little water and poured pink sugar sprinkles over them to give them the glittery jewel effect.
It was a very beautiful cake that would feed a decent sized crowed of 15 people (kids included) and had plenty for everyone to take home with them.
(all fondant work was done on wax paper and then refrigerated before adding them to the cake, and the addition of them was the final step.)
very cute!!!
