This Golf Course Birthday Cake was for the VP of my company. I like making cakes for friends and family and started making them more often. The cake a 9×13 homemade vanilla cake (no box here) with homemade vanilla buttercreme. I used the grass tip for the grass around the golf course, the sandpit is crushed up graham cracker pie shell (it was broken already and didn’t want to throw it out). The golf balls are little wads of fondant. The golf cart is just a toy, didn’t have enough time to make it out of fondant along with the flag.
I iced the cake first and then took a toothpick and traced out where I would put the lake, sand pit and the green. Then I outlined the spots with the colors and then filled it in. The filling was a chocolate frosting recipe I found online.
