I used 2 rectangular tins sized 42cm x 30cm for this Grand Prix birthday cake. The base is a rectangular base and iced with white roll out icing.
For No. 5 I used rectangular base, cut out No.5 shape and then iced with white roll out icing. The cars are cake cut into a long trapezium shape.
Decoration:
Black icing – roll out and then cut into 1cm x 1cm squares. Add to cake giving a grand prix effect.
– roll by hand into shape of helmets.
– Roll out and cut in a round shape for wheels.
Grey icing – roll out and place carefully and cut on No.5 for the road effect.
White icing – rolled and cut in thin strips for road markings and stripes for cars.
– Roll out and cut in a round shape for car numbers.
Colour some icing green
Colour some icing red
Colour some icing blue
Colour some icing yellow
The above are used to cover the car shaped cakes and roll rectangular shape for head rest by hand.
