I made this Guitar Birthday Cake for a friend’s husband’s 50th birthday. They were doing a rock ‘n’ roll 50’s theme. And she knew she wanted a guitar on it so I came up with this.
I made it using the guitar shaped pan and a 1/2 sheet pan. I covered the 1/2 sheet with homemade buttercream icing. Then decorated the guitar according to the decorations that the pan came with. I then placed the guitar on top of the sheet cake. I melted white chocolate and then dyed it black and teal then poured the chocolate into music note molds and placed into fridge to harden.
When hardened I placed them on the cake around the guitar. And finished it off by putting the border on it.
Recipe for white buttercream:
~4 cups confectioners sugar
~1 cup solid vegetable shortening
~1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
~1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
~4 tablespoons water
Mix it altogether until it’s light and fluffy.
