I made this Guitar Hero Cake for my grandsons Jake 5 and Travis 3. Finding a board to display it on was probably the hardest. I used 3 cake mixes and made a template out of cardboard. I crumb coated with buttercream and covered with colored fondant and used whitie fondant for the inlays.
Chocolate fondant was used for the neck. Black string licorice for the strings, Rolo candies with royal icing for the knobs and jellied candy for the tuning pieces. The names and writing were free hand with chocolate, chilled and placed on the top.
