My grandson is two today and I wanted something he would be familiar with. I found this website and read the previous entries. My hamburger cake is similar, a homemade yellow cake cooked in a nine inch round pan, a second round cake that was made with about 2/3’s of a brownie mix and the final bun part was made with about 2/3’s of the yellow cake in a glass mixing bowl(the other third made the nine inch round).
I had almond paste on hand- mixed that with confectioners sugar and various food colorings. That made the lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and pickles. I lightened chocolate frosting with some vanilla to get the bun color and used the rice krispies for the sesame seeds.
The french fries were made from sugar cookie dough that I baked in a rectangle with precut markings. While it baked I cut threw the marks. I wanted to get that square fry shape and not have them spread out. I used a few nuts for the eyes, nose and eyebrows, marshmallow for the back of the eyes.
That is adorable, Congratulations. He will always remember this cake! You did a great job!
