I made this Hannah Montana Guitar Cake for my 4 year old stepdaughter’s birthday party. She is a big Hannah fan!
The bottom cake is 2 x 1/4 sheets together, made of funfetti cake mix. The guitar is made of 2 x 1/4 sheet cakes of devil’s food cake mix. I cut the neck out of one cake and the body of guitar out of other. I found some patterns of guitars online that I liked, and then just cut them out.
Laid patterns on cake and went around cake with sharp knife. Be sure cakes are completely cool, to prevent crumbs. I iced the bottom cake first and allowed time for icing to setup some before placing guitar on top. Iced guitar in purple then allowed it to setup before finishing. Used play guitar daughter had to make few designs on guitar.
The control knobs are Reese cups, the bars for strings are Kit Kat bars, the rivets down the neck are Reese pieces, and the string screws at top of neck are junior mints with toothpicks in them. I tried to make everything edible on cake so no one eats something they shouldn’t. Wanted to use string licorice for strings but couldn’t find any. Some just went regular old white icing.
She was amazed at her party. She gave me a big hug when she saw it. Everyone loved cake, big hit for me!!
