I came up with the idea for this Hannah Montana Guitar Cake when my daughter said she wanted a Hannah Montana cake. I looked at cake pans and finally decided I could draw a guitar shape and decorate it better than with the star pan.
I used my son’s guitar hero and traced it onto a cake board then cut it out. I baked two 11×15 inch white cakes, filled it with caramel cream and put it in the freezer for 2 hours. After it was hard I placed the cutout on top of one cake and cut around it. I did the same for the handle part of it.
Then I used store bought buttercream icing and dyed it purple and pink using gel color. I left a little bit white for decorating and for the yellow stars and words. I frosted the main guitar shape first with purple and then put the pink icing in a Ziploc bag with a round decorating tip in the bottom corner. I drew out the inside shape of the guitar and colored it in. Then I frosted the other cake in pink.
I used Gumdrops and dum-dum suckers for decorating and the white icing for the strings. My 5 year old loved it and everyone thought I bought it.
This cake is so awesome. I have to try this for my daughters birthday. Thanks for all the tips.
