My 7 years old daughter wanted a Hello Kitty Birthday party, therefore I decided to look for some cake ideas on the internet and I found this awesome site. I looked over all of the cake pictures and different decorating techniques used, and decided to go for a Hello Kitty Birthday cake using fondant.
For the cake I used a Betty Crocker Super Moist French Vanilla Cake Mix and made it in a round 10 X 2 3/4 pan. When it was done and cool I cut it using a template with her face form. Then, covered it with some cream cheese frosting and continue to applied the fondant following the directions on the box. The eyes, nose, whiskers and bow were made with the fondant leftovers and colored with Wilton icing colors.
This is my first cake using fondant, and I’m so proud of myself! Everyone loved it, and my daughter was ecstatic!
