My 2 year old goddaughter wanted a Hello Kitty cake for her birthday and as her mum by her own admission is useless in the cake baking dept, she asked me to make it for her.
This Hello Kitty Birthday Cake Idea is a very easy cake and probably the easiest character cake I’ve made! The cake was made using 4 oz of butter, sugar, self raising flour and 2 eggs. When the cake was cooled I cut round the top to make the head the right shape. I used roll out regal ice and fashioned a bow from the excess using red food colouring and a cake decorating pen to outline it, the eyes and nose were made by using coloured writing icing and the whiskers after a little trial and error with licorice were made by using Mikado biscuits which were perfect and a little more palatable for a group of 2 and three year olds.
