I used fondant HK cutout and decorated her using the star method. I tinted the home made frosting with food coloring & added 3 yellow M&M’s to her crown. I wrote the birthday lady’s name on her sash using a piping bag (just cut a hole big enough to write letters). Two different sized cakes for fun and more M&M’s for color.
The Hello Kitty cake itself is Wilton’s recipe for the checkerboard cake, since CKay really doesn’t like regular cake (spongy light ones). After I delivered this cake, parts of her crown broke off d/t how heavy the M&M’s and how thin the fondant was, thank goodness I took a picture of it before sending her off to be eaten.
