This High School Musical Birthday Cake is five flavored homemade birthday cakes with flavors consisting of lemon, banana, butter, coconut, and vanilla. The recipe for this cake calls for the Watkins flavor brand and you can also exchange Rum extract in the place of the banana flavor. It also calls for 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, 1/2 cup vegetable shortening, 3 cups white sugar, 5 eggs beaten until lemon colored, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon Watkins Baking Powder, and 1 cup of milk.
Each one of the flavors require 1 teaspoon per flavor. The cake size of the pan was 11×15 and should be baked at 325 F for 1 3/4 hours or until cake test done. Cool in pan on wire rack: for ten minutes.
The cake was draped with white confectionery icing. The decoration was handrawn consisting of High School Musical mascot, the Wildcat as well as the sheet music of “Happy Birthday to You” in the background, which can not be easily discerned unless you are musically inclined.
To finalize the High School Musical theme, there were six rings placed around the sides of the cake, one for each character of the High School Musical movie.
Not only did the cake look good but the five flavors were equally spread throughout the cake and depending on your knowledge of flavors you can taste each distinct flavor. Thank you mama for your time and effort.
