This Homemade Frog Birthday Cake was made using the Wilton 3D bear pan. I trimmed off the arms and tail and used the ears for eyes. The arms are made of dowel rods covered in icing. His fingers are lollipop sticks folded in half and stuck into icing and covered using the star tip in buttercream.
The lily pad is made using a cardboard cake circle covered in green fondant. The base is done using the comb for the water texture and the flowers are royal icing swirl flowers made ahead of time.
This was for a girl’s 16th birthday and she was VERY surprised!
This cake looks fab and i want to try to re-create it, how did you get the texture of the icing on the frog to look as it does?
