This Hot Wheels Cake is a birthday cake I made for my son’s 4th Birthday. I used a double layered 10 inch round on the bottom and a double layered 6 inch round on the top. I put the cake on a 12 inch cake board so that there was enough room to add the cars at the end.
The cake is chocolate with yellow homemade buttercream filling. I used homemade white buttercream for the frosting and then cut out black fondant squares to make the checker pattern. The fondant squares were added with gumpaste glue. I got the Hot Wheels logo off the internet and cut it out with orange fondant and added my son’s name with black fondant letters. I then used yellow buttercream to add the trim around the 2 layers and the top. This was done with tip 21.
I then made the flags with a checkered pattern that I found on the internet and added the hot wheels around the bottom. I was really excited with the outcome of this cake. It was my own original creation and the look on my sons face when he saw it was priceless.
I really like this. I’m giong to attempt it for my son’s 6th birthday this weekend!!
It was fun to make and not too hard at all. Good Luck and submit your picture after. I would love to see it :)
