Coolest Hotwheels 4th Birthday Race Track Cake

I made this Hotwheels 4th Birthday Race Track Cake for my son’s 4th birthday. He is Hotwheels crazy! I got the idea after seeing a similar cake made as a number 2.

To make the number 4 shape, I used several mini “foil bread pans” that I got at my local supermarket. This allowed me to make several “brick shaped” cakes that I then pieced together to make the number four. I cut the ends off each brick (saving two with one end cut off so the end of the cake would have a nice end to it). Cutting the ends allowed each brick to be butted up to each other easily. T

he cake recipe was a homemade pound cake, that would make enough for a 12″x18″ sheet cake, or a little more than using 2 cake box mixes.

I didn’t use any fancy tips to apply the icing; just took a zip lock bag made a small cut in a corner and piped it on. The Flame and writing were basically done free hand going off a logo I had printed out.

I just cannot believe this, my grandson is turning 4 years old and wanted a race track birthday cake. his name is also Daniel.
    what a coincidence.
we are from South Africa, and i will most definitely be making this cake for him.

  2. Thanks for liking the cake!! I’m sorry I didn’t see the earlier post asking what size pan, but it was a brick sized foil pan. About 3x4x6 something like that. Hope your little Daniel loves it as much as mine did!!
