I made this Iggle Piggle cake for my son’s 1st birthday. I photocopied and enlarged a picture of Iggle Piggle. Then I cut it out and placed it on a slab of sponge. I traced around the picture with a knife to cut out the cake in the shape of Iggle Piggle.
The icing is butter icing (also known as Vienna cream – butter, icing sugar and a little milk) which I coloured blue and red and applied to Iggle Piggle with a knife. I used black icing gel (from the supermarket) to outline and draw his nose and mouth. His eyes are white chocolate drops with black icing gel in the middle.
It is my third cake I have decorated and it took about 2 hours to do, but was definitely worth it as my little boy loved it!
Just what I’ve been looking for! Thank you it’s perfect for my son’s 3rd birthday and my first attempt at making a birthday cake. Wish me luck!!!
