Coolest Igglepiggle Birthday Cake

I am a mum of 2 little In The Night Garden fans so it was an easy choice to make an Igglepiggle Birthday Cake. It really is easy to do ~ start by making a few basic sponge cakes! I used 3. Recipes on blog: http://somethingcakey.wordpress.com/

Then its just a case of cutting out the basic figure using a paper template! I used a double layer for most of the body but built up the tummy and feet areas with an extra layer of sponge. Sandwich these together with some buttercream icing.

I used premade red icing for the feet bases, and red liquorice, cut in short lengths for the hair. Use white premade icing for the eyes with a circle of black icing on the top! And just extra blue icing for the nose.

Make up a lot of blue buttercream icing and getting piping! Covering the rest of the cake! Be sure to make enough as it is quite difficult to match the colour again if you need more!For more ideas have a look at my website, I have a mumpreneur business! www.theicingonthecakespain.com.
