I made this Indiana Jones Pyramid Cake for my son’s 7th birthday party. We had an archaeological treasure hunt in the park!
To make the cake I baked two square cakes and stacked them on top of one another. I then carved the cakes to form the pyramid (using the discarded pieces for the peak). A small cut out was made to store the treasure (gold coins).
I covered the cake in butter icing tinted a sandy brown colour (mixing red, blue and yellow food colouring together) and sprinkled with some small yellow (sand looking) sprinkles. To finish the cake I placed some Egyptian amulets on and around the cake.
Thats so cool im doing a pyramid project 4 histry class and thats what im goin 2 make
That is beautiful. I paid $50.00 for a pyramid cake. My friends couldn’t figure out what it was. The description by my friends was tomb stone head, volcano, taco bell bell, a climbing rock and other names I prefer to omit. I cried while driving back to my house when I picked the cake. I wanted it to be the center of the party and it was the laughing point in my party. The worse part is that the inside was heavy. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful cake. Congratulations.
