I made this Jet Ski birthday cake for my son-in-law’s 40th birthday. He loves to jet ski so I thought this would be great fun on a cake. The cake itself is about 12 x 18. I used the white almond sour cream wedding cake recipe which stands up very well to any kind of decorating or carving.
I frosted the entire cake with white butter cream. For the sand I used crushed vanilla wafers mixed with a little brown sugar for texture. For the water I piped on blue jell then lifted with a knife for the wave effect.
All of the decorations on the beach are made from fondant and the rocks are chocolate rocks. I did purchase the jet ski’s. This cake took about 6 hours to decorate but it was totally worth it. He and everyone else absolutely loved it.
