This beautiful Jewelry Box Birthday Cake was made for my daughter’s 2nd Birthday. It was choc sponge cake covered in pink dye coloured frosting from Coles.
I used a loaf tin and cooked the base of the box. I also cooked again in this tin and trimmed along it length ways to make the lid. This is secured with skewers.
I found a little mirror in one of my old make compacts and I washed it up and used it to place behind the little Tinkerbell doll I got from the supermarket.
I sliced snakes and decorated the top of the cake to make it look like it had compartments. I used play bracelets and ring on top to decorate.
Decorated around the base with coconut (dessicated). Yellow around lit was made with leftover white frosting with yellow dye added.
