I got the idea for my Jo Jo the clown cake from this website. I used a Wilton cake pan with a box funfetti mix. I flipped it over and cut the top so it would lay flat. Decorated it with butter cream frosting and Wilton coloring for all the colors.
Once I frosted the cake I let it crust over. I traced a picture of JoJo on a piece of wax paper from a coloring book with a black marker (I had to blow it up on a copier to make it big enough) and then flipped it over and retraced it with black icing gel. Flipped the icing gel side down onto the cake, pressed lightly, and then picked it back up. It wasn’t a perfect design but it was good enough to fill in from there.
I used the star tip to make her body, clothes, etc. and a round tip for her hair. Then piped in the words and finished with edible red and purple glitter.
