My son wanted a puppy/doggy party. I wasn’t sure what kind of dog I had the skill to draw/copy onto a cake. We decided on a Kipper the Dog Cake. An animated dog was easier for me.
I covered the cake in chocolate buttercream frosting. Allow it to dry a little and then smooth out with a paper towel. I used a coloring page image of Kipper. I placed wax paper on top of the image and traced with decorating gel. I then turned the waxed paper over onto the cake and gently pressed. I simply filled in he outline made by the gel. I did the dog bones and paw prints freehand.
My son loved it!
