I made this Ladybug Birthday Cake for my daughter’s birthday. It was fun, easy and huge hit with the guests.
The bottom is a quarter sheet cake pan, the large lady bug is a small glass Pyrex box, the head is a 6 oz ramekin. The eyes are made with mini Oreo cookies carefully twisted open and a mini blue M&M for the eyes. I used spaghetti dipped in black icing coloring for eye lashes and black licorice for the legs and antennas. The brown dots are Hershey dots but an upside down Hershey kiss would probably have worked great as well.
For the little bugs I cut the top off two mini muffins and frosted them added a Hershey dot for the head piped on white frosting and added a blue round sprinkle for he eyes.
The flowers are made but cutting a mini marshmallow lengthwise with a kitchen scissors and adding a mini M&M to the center.
It was really fun to make, not too difficult and my daughter loved it!
