Since superhero Lego video games are very popular right now, I needed to make a Lego Batman Birthday Cake for a friend’s son’s birthday party.
I used a 9×13 cake, frosted with vanilla buttercream. I found a pic of Batman Lego online, printed it and enlarged it to correct size for the cake, and made 2 copies. I cut one of the copies along the outside outline only, used that as a template, and traced the outline onto the cake, using a cake tester as a tracing tool, cleaning the tip as I went along. Then, I cut out the other copy, and cut it apart along the body, arms, and placed those onto the outline, and traced the details for correct placement and size. I outlined everything in yellow, then filled in with gray, black, and yellow buttercream, using a small star tip. I used the same process for the Batman logo.
The trickiest part was doing the bats, since they were so small, but I think it looked fine. I added yellow shell borders, and sprinkled the top of the cake with silver edible glitter, for a little sparkle.
