Hello! My name is Stephanie and I made this light up Xbox cake for my son. My kids keep me on my toes. Each year I let them pick out any kind of cake they would like for their birthday. This year my son asked for an Xbox cake. I had never made one before, but I was super excited to make one for him.
As I was sitting there thinking about what I could do to raise the bar, it dawned on me. How cool would it be if I could make the Xbox cake light up?
I used a 1/2 sheet cake and trimmed it to my desired shape. I like to make my cakes overnight as that way my kids won’t see it until morning comes. So I completed the cake and I placed it on the table with a card. Unaware that the cake lit up, my son’s face was priceless when he saw it and he was extremely happy.
I took his cake to school during lunch time and all the kids went crazy over the cake. Kids that weren’t in his class were even asking for cake.
My son hates giving me kisses in public, but I asked him for a kiss in the lunch room with all the kids there and to my surprise he planted one on me. That’s the moment I knew I nailed it.
