I made this single layer Homemade Lion Pride Birthday Cake. The cake itself is a Pillsbury chocolate “just add water” mix that comes in a box (the easy option!) but technically you did actually bake it yourself & it tastes great.
For the big cake I used a single cake & then a second cake cut into strips to go around the outside of the smaller cake to make it one big cake. The smaller cakes are just single cakes.
I used tinned caramel to smear over the cake to get the caramel lion colour & chocolate flake to crumble around for the mane. The lines for the face of the lion are plain butter chocolate icing that I piped on & the eyes are smarties.
It was very simple to make & was a great hit!
