I am very proud of this homemade Mad Hatter cake, partly because it took ten hours and a LOT of patience!
I used eight layers of cake, rotating between vanilla and chocolate. I used homemade recipes for both. I used four different-sized pans to get that tapered effect. I then made some fondant and divided it into small batches, dying each a different color but leaving a litle white fondant for the stock card.
I also had some leftover cake batter and fondant, so I made a pocket watch cake out of a 8″ round cake and used a cupcake for the wind-up knob on the top.
The cake was Awesome, looked even better in person than in this pic, and tasted so wonderful I asked for the recipe!
