My son is a huge fan of Wii’s game Super Mario Kart so my sister in law and I made this Mario And Luigi Cake for him.
The Mario and Luigi are 9″ round cakes sculpted and covered in homemade fondant. The Mushroom is cake on top and the bottom was made of a cut 2 liter bottle that we hot glued a cake plate.
We iced the 2 liter and put fondant on it to give it the same texture as the rest of the cake. The checkered flags are just material. He LOVED his cake!!

How did you make the mushroom top?
My son wants a M & L cake for his birthday – nothing else will do! Having a hard time, I only wish I was as talented as you! These are really fun & amazing cakes!
