This Mickey Mouse Birthday cake is my first attempt at a Mickey Mouse cake that I made for my grandson’s 2nd birthday.
I first make a round cake using a 7 inch cake tin and two smaller round cakes using 5 inch tins for the ears. I carved/cut an angle out of the large cake to make a “chin” shape – I did this freehand.
On the largest round cake I gave it a thin layer of white frosting and smoothed it over. Then using a picture of Mickey Mouse as a guide, I drew the face detail with a toothpick. I then simply filled in with the colors using a small star nozzle. I found it easier to pipe the eyes, nose and mouth before filling in with the face color. I did the same with the ears and used black frosting.
I was quite pleased with the end result and my grandson was thrilled as he loves Mickey.
