I made this Homemade Mickey Mouse Cake for my grandson’s 2nd birthday. He absolutely loves Mickey mouse and I loved making it for him! The fondant I made and colored myself. Both tiers are white cake and the tiers are held together by inserting a sturdy straw down the middle of them. The cutouts I made by using cookie cutters and Mickey was made by just pairing up the appropriate sized round cutters!
The balls are rolled fondant and Jayden’s name is also made with fondant. There is a thin crumb coat of buttercream icing under the fondant. The 2 figures on the middle of the 2 tiers were bought at a local department store and the Mickey mouse on top is a birthday candle.
This is my first 2 tier fondant birthday cake and I was extremely happy with the way it turned out. I know mommy and Jayden were also very happy with the Mickey cake!
awesome job, wouldn’t have guessed it was your first tier
