I did this Mickey Mouse cake for my oldest son’s 4th birthday last year. He was going through a Mickey phase so he was firmly set on a Mickey cake. I used a Wilton shaped pan (retired) and marble cake mix from a box.
I made butter cream icing and tinted it in various colors (be careful when working with black, it stains your skin). I always wear gloves). I also found that the reusable icing bags in my opinion are definitely worth the money and the time it takes to clean them out. The disposable ones kept busting seams on me ( I am a little rough on them).
I iced the bottom sheet cake with plain white to seal it and to sort of glue the Mickey in place once I put him on top. I decorated Mickey and once I was done with that I added the sky and grassy hill to the background. I used candle letters to write Happy Birthday Aden on it. The cake was a huge hit.
