I baked two 9 inch round cakes for this Mickey Mouse cake, then placed in the freezer to cool. Once cooled and frozen I got a large plastic cup and pressed out two round circles for the ears. I then placed the ears above the 9inch cake.
Using black food coloring I tinted butter cream icing and outlined his face, cheeks, eyes, nose and mouth. With the star tip I then covered his ears and the top of his head, with small controlled stars. Anywhere black is required. I then made two larger stars for his eyes.
After cleaning out icing bag – used regular butter cream icing and again using small stars filled in Mickeys face. I did not do anything special on his mouth other than tint some icing pink and smear it in for his mouth. Then using white gel filled in the top part of his eyes.
Pretty easy and everyone loved it.
I think this is about the best set of directions I’ve seen yet, especially regarding the cups for the ears. My 1 year old’s birthday party is this week, and I plan to use your instructions as a guide. Thanks!
