My 5 yr old wanted a Millenium Falcon Star Wars Cake for his Star Wars birthday party. I looked at tons and settled on doing this version.
I used 2 9in pans for the base, a loaf pan which I cut at an angle and then trimmed to fit the circle to look like the protruding parts and then used mini cupcakes and molded white chocolate to make the pilot cockpit and tunnel and molded chocolate for the guns and satellite dish. I also used milk duds for added dimension.
After crumb-coat frosting, I put in freezer. The next morning I frosted with buttercream and lightly sprayed black color mist food spray to create the gray and then piped black buttercream for the details. Around the base, which is difficult to see in the picture, I scattered chocolate rocks and blue sanding sugar to try and create an outer space galaxy look. The best part was when I brought the kids out and they all knew it was the Millenium Falcon!
