I made these mini doll cakes for my friend’s daughter’s 7th birthday party. She wanted each girl to have her own cake. The cakes were baked in the Wilton mini wonder mold pan.
I frosted each ‘dress’ with buttercream frosting (I make my own). For the bodice, I used marshmallow fondant tinted the same color as the dress(I found the recipe online–very easy and actually tastes pretty good). I used a small bit for each doll and molded it around the doll to make a strapless bodice.
Then I stuck the pick into the dress and piped some accents on the dress (i.e. ruffles around the bottom and bodice of the dress, flowers, etc). The birthday girl wanted purple, turquoise, and pink dresses. I tried to make each color a little different (and we ended up with green too because my first turquoise attempt was a bit off).
May use this idea at my daughters next birthday
