I made this homemade Minnie birthday cake for my daughter’s first birthday. It was the first cake I’ve ever decorated on my own and it turned out surprisingly well. I used the Wilton Mickey Head Cake pan, rented from a local cake supply store.
I used boxed cake mix- golden yellow cake. To decorate, I frosted using pre-made frosting and food dye with tips from the supply store, they were very helpful. For the ears, eyes, and nose I used pre-made black frosting and sprinkled black colored sugar crystals over it for a sparkly touch. Topped it off with a handmade bow, a few pretty eyelashes and voila- it’s Minnie! It took me only 2 and 1/2 hours!
